Though you’ll always have memories of your time together, here are some special ideas to honor your pet. Celebrating your pet’s life can be an important part of the healing process and helps keep the special love you shared with them alive. Here are some ideas to honor them.
Burial at Home
If you and your family have chosen to bury your pet at home, here are some things to think about. You can bury your pet wrapped in a natural fiber blanket, cardboard, or wooden box. Avoid synthetic fibers and plastic bags. Be cautious to avoid power/gas lines and water pipes. Ensure that you dig at least 6 feet deep to discourage wild life or other pets from accessing the burial site. The euthanasia solution (pentobarbital) will be toxic to any animal that unintentionally ingests it. To mark your pet’s final resting place you can plant a lovely bush or shrub, stones or rocks, and/or add a keepsake or pet memorial stone or grave marker. It will also add protection from wild animals. If burying a pet feels right to you, a bit of forethought can go a long way. If burying a pet doesn’t seem like the right fit, you may want to consider pet cremation instead.

Molly's Pet Memorial Stones
We are pleased to partner with Sharon Noble to offer Molly's Pet Memorial Stones as a beautiful way to memorialize your loved one. Sharon Noble is a talented local artist from Crescent Valley known for her unique Mandala works which are intricate designs made up of small dots in a circular formation.
From her love of animals and her passion for art, “Molly’s Pet Memorial Stones” was born. Her artwork is deeply personal and meaningful, as she incorporates the ashes of a beloved pet into the creation of each unique and beautiful stone. Through her work, Sharon provides a way for pet owners to hold onto the memory of their furry friends in a beautiful and tangible way. Because the ashes of the pet are incorporated into the stone, this option is only available for clients who elect Private cremation.
