Alex is our newest veterinarian, having joined the practice in October 2005.
Alex grew up in coastal Nova Scotia and completed his Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology at Dalhouise University in Halifax. Following that, he spent a number of years living in Vancouver and exploring Vancouver before returning to the East Coast. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of PEI. He has worked at the Halifax Greater Emergency Clinic and a busy referral practice in Maine, gaining valuable experience that he brings to the Kootenays.
Alex brings a lot of enthusiasm to the practice, with a keen interest in surgery.
He also gives back to the profession, having participated as a volunteer member of a group of veterinarians providing veterinary care to rural and impoverished regions of Guatelama and Mexico.
His other interests include veterinary care of racing sled dogs and wildlife.
