Leanne received her DVM from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993, and her BSc in
Biology from the University of Saskatchewan. After graduation, Leanne spent the next seven years
working in companion animal practice in Ontario, where she also served as a volunteer veterinarian
with the Toronto Wildlife Centre. Leanne joined the Nelson Animal Hospital team in 2000.
Leanne’s household includes her cat "Squishy", her dog "Alu", and her horse "Murray". "My animals are
part of my family, and their health and well-being is really important to me. I treat every pet
knowing they are a part of somebody's family."
